Brizio Basi has always led innovation in vacuum technology. With the EU’s revised SF-Gas regulation (EU 2024/573), effective from March 2024, which mandates a phased reduction of sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) between 2025 and 2030, the industry faces a major transition.
SF₆, used in over 99% of medium and high voltage switchgear, is being replaced due to its high environmental impact. However, a definitive alternative has yet to be established.
Our internal Research & Development team is actively progressing in advanced solutions to retrofit existing SF₆-based systems with next-generation technologies, ensuring compliance and supporting the green transition.
In Brizio Basi we are developing new technologies for retrofitting SF₆ gas systems into next-generation systems that utilize alternative gases in compliance with new EU regulations.
